$849.00 for the handset, plus $150.00 to unlock the handset so it is not locked into a fixed term contract.

3G Data Plan

The Apple iPhone requires a data plan.

The recommended and default data plan for the iPhone is Super  $36.32 for 5000Mb.

Support

iPhones purchased through the Univeristy of Adelaide and used with our mobile service are supported. Standard warranty service applies. Support of iPhone features is limited to those that are compatible and preconfigured on the iPhone.

Wireless network - Preconfigured to UOFA wireless network

Wireless broadband - The iPhone is not able to connect to a laptop for wireless broadband usage ie tethering.

iPhone Applications

The following built-in applications do not work with the University wireless network.

• Maps
• Weather

Compatible with 3G network.

NOT compatible with the UOFA wireless network.

This issue does not solely impact the University of Adelaide and is a known issue at other institutions that use a secure proxy. After investigation with other institutions we are unable to provide a solution to this problem. It is expected that Apple will address this issue in future releases of the iPhone.
