Upgrade Support

Users of ITS supported Palm handheld devices who are synchronising to the existing Netscape Calendar Server will need to have their synchronisation software upgraded to ensure their Palm can synchronise with the new Calendar Service when the upgrade occurs on the weekend of the 7th of October.

Users with devices that are or have been sold by ITS in the past, and/or are known to work with the new system, can book a site visit for their device to be updated.  ITS support for unlisted devices will be on a 'best effort' basis.  Please note that our priority will be to the currently supported models.

If you require assistance with this from ITS and have not already booked a site visit, please e-mail palmsupport@adelaide.edu.au to request a site visit.

University Tested Palm List

The following is a list of devices that ITS have successfully tested with the new University Calendar environment:

  • Treo 650
  • LifeDrive Mobile Manager
  • m100, m515
  • Treo 650
  • Tungsten T Series
  • Tungsten E Series
  • Tx
  • Vx

If your model is not listed, and you wish to have it verified against the test environment prior to the upgrade, please e-mail palmsupport@adelaide.edu.au.  Please note that our priority will be to the currently supported models.

Upgrading Your Own Palm Device

If you wish to try updating your own Palm device, you can download the installation instructions and the Oracle Calendar Sync conduit for Palm below.  The instructions assume you have previously connected to the University's Calendar server, and therefore assume that you have Palm Desktop  and HotSync Manager installed.

NOTE: If you update prior to the 6th of October you will be unable to connect to the existing Calendar until after the upgrade.
