MyUni Content DigitisationIn order for Students to view various multimedia online it must be converted to a suitable format, usually a "streaming" format. Streaming media is a technology used to allow large audio and video files to be accessed online. Rather than having to download the complete audio/video file before being able to play it back, streaming media technology allows the media to be played by the user as it arrives in a continuous stream. Also, the media is not saved to the users computer allowing a high level of copy and distribution control. The use of streaming media is not limited to Lectures, and can be applied to any form of audio and/or video as long as it is legal to do so. Further information on the Digitisation can be found as a part of Help and Support for MyUni Instructors This service is the responsibility of the Desktop Management Services team. |
