Project Apollo
StaffThe Project Apollo team plans to reduce the impact on staff as much as possible. Each school/discipline during the audit stage will be given advanced notice before the audit team arrives. It is expected that each computer will take no longer than 15 minutes to be evaluated, and no modifications to your applications or data will be made to the system during this time. During the rollout stages each staff member will be given advanced notice of the time their computer will be updated. The project team will be mindful of critical dates and times for staff during planning of this work. Once the audit phase of the program is complete we will be able to provide a more accurate time of how long it will take for your computer to be upgraded as each areas computer systems are different.
Title HoldersThe scope of Project Apollo is to evaluate computers owned by the University. Title Holders personally owned computers are not required to be audited and do not form part of the upgrade path including upgrading to the New University SOE (Vista). Project Apollo recognises the importance of Title Holders to the University and in consultation with the Faculty and ITS will be providing recommendations on the best support model for these staff. Post Graduate StudentsPost Graduate Students are considered as staff by ITS and all Post Graduate Students with University owned computers will be included in Project Apollo and the Upgrade to New University SOE (Vista).
Undergraduate StudentsThe Undergraduate computing labs will not be upgraded to the New University SOE (Vista) as part of this project. All Undergraduate computing labs will be modified to allow compatibility with Office 2007 files, and be upgarded to Windows Vista at a later date.
