Training in the Windows Vista SOE

Two training courses will be made available to staff who receive the new SOE.

Desktop Essentials

The Desktop Essentials course will be approximately 20-30 minutes in duration.  This course should be taken prior to receiving Windows Vista and will cover:

• What users need to do to prepare for their Vista upgrade
• What will happen during the upgrade 
• What data will be automatically restored
• Where to store data on the new SOE so that it is backed-up and secure
• Where to store large data-sets that do not require backing-up
• How to self restore accidentially deleted files
• How to acquire software via the software portal

This induction training is critical to get the most benefit from your new Vista SOE

Upgrading to Vista and Office 2007

The Upgrading to Vista and Office 2007 course will be approximately 4 hours in duration.  It will cover:

• New Vista and Office interface
• New features available
• Changes in the use of Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Access and Outlook
• How to get help

This training is essential for staff who use Microsoft Office and will make the transition to the new interface easier.
