Secure User Environment: Elevated Rights User Guidelines

As a user, you may request to be granted Elevated Rights temporarily or permanently so that you are able to conduct your work effectively. This is approved by your school/area manager on a case-by-case basis. Requests can be made through your local approver, who should then contact the ITS Service Desk.

Getting Elevated Rights

You may request temporary Elevated Rights (lasting two working days) at any time in order to install "non-supported" (licensed or free) software and peripheral/device drivers (e.g. local printers and cameras). These applications will not be supported by the Service Desk.

To place a request for Elevated Rights (temporary or permanent), please speak to your local approver. If you do not know who your local approver is, please contact the ITS Service Desk.
