Further information for the School of Agriculture, Food and Wine

The new Equitrac print system is now live. New print queues have been deployed to all staff and postgraduates (research) within the School.

Changes to Printing

Your printers control panel will have now the following new printer queues:

Hannaford-LG13-Canon-IR5065

PlantresearchCentre-Level2-Canon-IRC6800

Waitemain-GN03-Canon-IRC5185

WaiteMain-N102-Canon-IR2200

WineInnovationCluster-334-Canon-IRC6800

WineInnovationCluster-Level4-Canon-IRC5185

When you print to these queues it will no longer be necessary to input a userID, however you will see a popup which allows you to accept or decline the print job.

Addtionally, there is a new queue which allows you to release a print job to any printer with a pagecounter. This is called a follow-you queue and looks like:

Sciences-AgricultureFoodWine-Waite-FollowYou

When you print to this queue, the print job sits on the print server until released. To do this:

-Input your staff userID (without the "a") using the numeric keypad on the pagecounter, then press enter

-At the password prompt, press enter again (no password required)

-You will see three options on the pagecounter LCD: PRINT, COPY and END. Press the blue F1 key for PRINT

-You will see a list of print jobs you have sent to the queue, select the one you want to print using the arrow keys on the side of the display, and press enter

Changes to Photocopying

Job accounting has been disabled on the printer LCD panel, to photocopy you now need to use the pagecounters (new devices on top of the printer). Note that the printer LCD panel now asks for a card- this means that you need to authenticate yourself using the pagecounter as follows:

-Input your staff userID (without the "a") using the numeric keypad on the pagecounter, then press enter

-At the password prompt, press enter again (no password required)

-You will see three options on the pagecounter LCD: PRINT, COPY and END. Press the blue F2 key

-This will 'release' the print LCD panel for photcopying

-After 120 seconds of inactivity the pagecounter will log out, or you can press end to logout manually.

Mac users

Mac printing is not changing at this point in time. Printing from Macs will continue to work as per normal. However, Mac users will need to authenticate using their staff userID to do photocopying on these printers.

Changing Your PIN

By default, all users in the the School of Agriculture Food and Wine have their PIN set to be their staff userID (without the "a")

The change PIN, staff should visit the following URL:

http://www.adelaide.edu.au/service/printing

Login with Active Directory credentials, ie what you use to login your PC.

Known Issues

  • On some Windows 2000 computers, the deployment of the new queues did not successfully complete. If you have no printers installed, and are using the Windows 2000 operating system, please contact the Technology Services Service Desk on ext. 33000. Service Desk and also Waite Onsite staff can fix this issue.
  • it appears possible that print jobs sent during photocopying can cause photocopies to not complete. This is under investigation.
