Email mailbox quota

Quota is provided for all University IT account holders based on their relationship with the University.

Additional space may be purchased by a business area for $25 per 1GB under the conditions given in the table below.

Mailbox quota allocations

The following table provides information on mailbox quota allocations.

	Students	Staff, Titleholders and Postgraduate research Students	Visitors
Quota allowance	250MB	1GB	50MB
Cost of increase	$25 per 1GB	$25 per 1GB	$25 per 1GB
Size of increase		Requests can be made to increase quota to 5GB or 10GB
Conditions of increase	Requests must be for all students in a course.	Requests can be made for individuals or groups.

Monitoring mailbox space

Usage information is available from the email client (webmail) in real time for both staff and students. Email warnings are sent when inbox reaches 90% capacity. Regular warnings are then sent at 100% capacity and email is queued for 4 days after which email messages are bounced.
