Important Note for Academic Staff Planning to use their 50Gb Quota.

For research and academic staff with laptops, this data is cached locally on your PC so it can be used offline. Naturally if you store more data in your U: drive than you have available space on your local laptop hard disk, not all data can be locally cached. It is therefore strongly recommended that any strategy to utilise the full 50Gb quota, is matched with a review of your laptop hard disk's ability to cache this amount of data. Any hard disk upgrades necessary on laptops are a faculty or division cost.

Acquiring extra storage

Requests can be made to increase user and shared quota.  This is subject to availability. To request additional storage please email the service desk with your staff ID, required increase amount and department cost code.  If requesting an increase to shared storage (S: drive) please include the required folder.

Storing University Records

TRIM is the University electronic records management system and should be used to store all University records so that they may be managed in accordance with legislative requirements under the State Records Act.  Records stored on a shared drive are not compliant.
