Student Project Folders
- Each year students are able to request a Project Folder.
- This is mostly restricted to third and final year students.
- Project Folders are 1GB in size and student/s are responsible for managing the space.
About Project Folders
- Please send an email to cats@adelaide.edu.au to request a Project Folder. (note: If you are a Mechanical Engineering student, you will need to provide the Project Number.Other Engineering students will need to provide a unique name for the folder that is relevant to the project.)
- A generic or non-descriptive name will not be accepted.
- Please also include your sub-Faculty (Civ Eng, Chem Eng, etc.), your student ID (Axxxxxxx) and details of any other students who will need access (list their student ID numbers).
- Only the designated group members will have access.
- CATS also needs to know the duration each project folder will be used for, i.e. Semester 1 only, Semester 1 AND Semester 2, etc.
- Your new Project Folder will show up as W:\Projects\<CATS_Project_sub-Faculty_project number> in My Computer.
- Please allow up to 48 hours for the folder to be created.
Retaining Project Folders
- At the end of each calendar year, typically at the end of exams, all project folders will be deleted.
- If your project is to extend beyond the calendar year you must email cats@adelaide.edu.au requesting the Project Folder be retained. (note: Please include the name of the Project Folder, the name of your subject supervisor, and a contact phone number (if possible))
Access to Existing Project Folders
- If you need to access an existing project folder, please specify whether this will be an entirely new group, an addition to the current group, and what should be done with the existing data in the folder (i.e. should we delete the existing data?).
Extra Space
If more than 1GB is required, students will need to get their course supervisor to email cats@adelaide.edu.au with an authorised request for more space. You must demonstrate an increase in space is necessary.
