Improvements in Student IT Services for 2009


Student Suite Upgrade Project

The Student Suite Upgrade Project is currently underway and aims to replace all out of warranty personal computers and a portion of printers on all campuses (totalling 604 machines) which are specifically for student use. 

New Email and Collaboration Tools

The University of Adelaide, in collaboration with Google, have commenced a project to implement Google Applications for students early in the academic year. Go Live Date for Google Applications is 16 March 2009.

Update 16 March 2009 - The implementation has commenced, the first round of invitations have been sent to students. Details of the implementatin schedule can be found on the FAQ page.

Increased Quotas - Printing and Internet

The University understands that students rely heavily on internet usage and printing and therefore have reflected this in increases in quotas and changes to charges for extra quota.

New Student Identity Card

In 2009 all continuing students are required to collect a NEW Student Identity Card.

Increased Personal Storage

In addition to increasing storage space, the University also offers access to your home drives from remote personal computers, such as your home computer.
