Managing Diaries with Oracle Calendar

Target Audience

This course is available for all staff who wish to use Oracle Calendar to manage their own or another person's diary. The system is networked across the entire university and it is important to maintain privacy and security in relation to many appointments. For these reasons, training is recommended especially for those staff members who will be managing another person's diary as a designate.

Overview

This course describes how to record and access information about meetings and appointments, how to make efficient use of the software, and how to manage what others can see in your diary.

Prerequisite and Co-requisite Courses

This course assumes that you are able to use a PC running the standard University operating environment.

Course Duration

3.5 hours.

Competencies

At the completion of the course, attendees will be able to:

  1. Access Oracle Calendar.
  2. View their own agenda.
  3. View another person's agenda.
  4. Record an appointment and invite other staff.
  5. Check for conflicts.
  6. Ask Calendar to find appropriate times for a meeting.
  7. Schedule repeating meetings.
  8. Change and delete meetings.
  9. Reply to an invitation.
  10. Create and view agendas for a group.
  11. Understand what to record in Calendar.
  12. Manage what information other people can see and/or change in their agenda.
  13. Back up their agenda.
  14. Understand when and how to work offline.
  15. Understand and change settings to suit user requirements.
