Analysing Data with Pivot TablesTarget AudiencePivot tables offer a powerful way to quickly arrange large amounts of data to facilitate reporting. The selection of desired fields and ability to quickly alter the perspective of the table means that pivot tables provide a powerful analytical function. Staff who receive large outputs of data from the University of Adelaide information systems, or people who have collected significant data for research purposes and need to provide data summaries, will find these skills useful. OverviewThis course will covers the creation of a pivot table from a simple flat file, as well as the subsequent manipulation and refreshing of the table. Formatting the table, grouping and totalling will also be covered. Prerequisite and Co-requisite CoursesStaff should be familiar with the basic use of Excel. Completion of Introduction to Excel or equivalent experience is essential. We strongly recommend that you attend Data Management with Excel or have the equivalent skills and knowledge before attending Analysing Data with Pivot Tables. Course Duration3 hours.
