General Ledger

This course consists of the following unit. If you have completed a set of PeopleSoft training you are welcome to return at any time if you would like to practice your skills in one or more units:

General Ledger

Target Audience

This unit is aimed at staff who are required to create journals in the University’s Financial System. Such staff may be responsible for charging for goods or services to other areas of the University, or for making payments for such charges. They may also be involved with internal funds transfers as a part of allocation of funds. Access to the General Ledger is provided based on approval by the relevant Faculty Finance Manager and the Finance Branch as well as completion of appropriate training. Attendance at training does not guarantee access to the University's information systems.

Overview

This unit covers the basic processes involved in creating a journal. The different types of journals and when each type must be used are given considerable attention. Time saving techniques and the creation of projects help develop a sound understanding of the General Ledger.
