Grading

This course consists of the following units. If you have completed a set of PeopleSoft training you are welcome to return at any time if you would like to practice your skills in one or more units:

Enter and Amend Grades

Target Audience

This unit is aimed at staff who need to enter or amend final, end-of-semester grades for students into the Student Administration System.

Overview

Enter and Amend Grades covers the preparation of course grade rosters, entering of student grades directly or via a spreadsheet upload, attaching supplementary offer details and printing a grade roster for validation.

Prerequisite and Co-requisite Courses

Staff are required to have attended Express Reports before attending this unit. It is expected that staff will also attend the Approve and Post Grades unit.

Course Duration

3.5 hours.

Competencies

At the completion of the course, attendees will be able to:

  1. Create class grade rosters.
  2. Enter final marks/grades into a roster.
  3. Print a grade roster.
  4. Enter supplementary exam offer details.
  5. Add grades before rosters have been created.
  6. Export a grade roster to an Excel spreadsheet, enter grades and supplementary exam offers and upload the spreadsheet.
  7. Run a process to allocate a grade of CN (continuing) to students in Part 1 courses (restricted access).

Approve and Post Grades

Target Audience

This unit is aimed at staff who need to approve and post final, end-of-semester grades for students into the Student Administration System. This process is the responsibility of Course Co-ordinators, Heads of Department, Deans and Executive Deans; who may approve and post grades directly into the system or may authorise another staff member to perform the task.

Overview

Approve and Post Grades covers the approval of the final class grade roster for students, posting individual class grade rosters and posting final class grade rosters for a department. It includes changing a final grade after the grade roster has been posted, recording a student mark that doesn’t match the grade, changing a grade of Incomplete Fail when all work has been completed, printing of notification of results slips and producing a course list report including all final marks and grades.

Staff are required to have attended Express Reports and Enter and Amend Grades before attending this course.

  1. Approve final student marks/grades.
  2. Post individual class grade rosters.
  3. Post final grade rosters for an academic organisation or subject area.
  4. Post mass grade rosters.
  5. Post part of a final grade roster.
  6. Change a final grade after grades have been posted.
  7. Record a student mark that doesn’t match the grade.
  8. Change a grade of  Incomplete Fail when all work is completed.
  9. View a final grade change audit trail.
  10. Generate a course list using the Query tool.
  11. Produce a notification of results slip for an individual student (restricted access).
  12. Produce notification of results slips for all students (restricted access).
  13. Confirm that the notification slips have been distributed.
