Recommended Computer Hardware

Technology Services recommends that areas upgrade their computer fleet on a 3 year lifecycle.  This provides the best user experience and reduces the support cost overhead to the University.  University computer hardware is supplied by Datacom.  Information about the computer models available and how to order are available here. 

Standard Hardware - supported by Technology Services

• Acer or Lenovo computers acquired through Datacom and
• Purchased by University funds or Leased through IBM Global Finance

Non-Standard Hardware - support available from Datacom

• All other computers acquired through Datacom or other vendors and
• Purchased by University funds or Leased through IBM Global Finance

Personally Owned Hardware - support available from Datacom

• Any computers that have not been purchased with University funds or leased through IBM Global Finance
