Our research is focused on determining the influence of microstructure and properties of metals on their performance in specific service environments. Current projects cover the performance of carbon steels used for natural gas transmission pipelines in service environments that make the steel susceptible to stress corrosion cracking. You will be required to have knowledge of steel metallurgy and be prepared to undertake laboratory based experiments, metallography and microscopy. You will need to be able to work well with industry partners so good communication skills and an ability to complete work to deadlines are vital. Good organisational and personal skills, self-motivation and previous publication activity will be taken as important indicators for position suitability. Position RequirementsYou should have:
Salary(Level A) $54,656 – $66,567 per annum. A minimum of $62,014 (Level A Step 6) per annum is payable to the holder of a PhD. SuperannuationAn employer superannuation contribution of 9% applies.
