The Discipline of Public Health in the School of Population Health and Clinical Practice has active teaching and research interests in the field of occupational and environmental health (OEH). Research and consulting in OEH is carried out with a variety of stakeholders including government agencies and private industry. To support this work, the Discipline has specialized laboratory, research and teaching facilities at our Thebarton campus.
We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic laboratory scientist to participate in our diverse research and consulting activities on a part-time basis (0.5FTE). The work potentially includes a program of supervised practical training and would suit a science graduate with laboratory skills seeking to establish a career in occupational and environmental health science.
Position Requirements
You should have:
- a degree or advanced diploma in science
- demonstrable experience in analytical chemistry and laboratory science
- demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary group
Salary
Full-time salary: (HEO4) $44,467 - $48,911 per annum, pro rata at 18.38 hours per week (0.5FTE).
Superannuation
Plus an employer superannuation contribution of 9% applies.
Term of Position
This fixed-term position is available from 1 October 2008 to 30 September 2009 in the first instance, with the possibility of renewal to a full time position.
