Lecturer in Computer Science

We are seeking a Lecturer with the ability to teach in a wide range of core computer science subjects.  You will have established research success in one of the current research interests in the School.  These include software engineering, computer networks and communications, computer vision, formal modelling and verification, high performance computing, parallel and distributed computing, and persistent systems.

Position Requirements

You should have:

  • A Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, or equivalent experience
  • Strong teaching skills
  • Established research success in one of the following areas: software engineering, computer networks and data communications, concurrent and distributed systems, computer architecture, operating systems, information systems, artificial intelligence and programming languages
  • Written and verbal communication skills in English in accord with the normal duties of the position.
  • Ability to carry out administrative duties in an independent and effective manner
  • The ability to supervise research and honours students in an effective manner.

Salary

(Level B) $73,228 - $86,960 per annum.

Plus an employer superannuation contribution of 17% applies.

Term of Position

This fixed-term position is available from 1 January 2010 for a period of 12 months in the first instance.
