An opportunity exists for an enthusiastic and committed individual to join a small administrative team supporting the School of Chemistry & Physics staff and students. 

You should be well suited to working in a fast and busy operational environment, and will need to be able to respond positively and calmly to constant changing priorities, competing demands under pressure situations whilst maintaining work accuracy. 

You will be responsible for, under general direction, the provision of an effective and efficient administrative and reception support to the School including responding to student and general enquires as well as coordinate the dispatch of information and materials as required.  You will also provides a broad range of services that support the School’s day-to-day operations including teaching services, finance, HR, HS&W, induction and general administration. You will also co-ordinate the School’s colloquia and seminar series.

Position Requirements

You should have:

  • Relevant experience and / or qualifications in administrative service provision
  • Demonstrated experience in office practices
  • Well developed computing skills, including word, excel, powerpoint and outlook
  • Well developed written skills and oral communication skills
  • Good interpersonal, conflict resolution and negotiation skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Demonstrated high level customer service related skills
  • Demonstrative ability to manage competing demands under pressure situations and maintain work accuracy
  • Demonstrated organisation and time management skills
  • Sound performance, competence and ethical approach that indicates a high degree of personal integrity and credibility and possessing a commitment to service excellence and to the achievement of service delivery standards

Salary

(HEO3) $40, 405 - $46,063 per annum.

Superannuation

An employer superannuation contribution of 17% applies.
