Lecturer in International PoliticsDiscipline of Politics, School of History and PoliticsJob Reference Number: 15622 Position Requirements | Salary | Superannuation | Term of Position | Further Information | Applications The University of Adelaide is the third oldest university in Australia, inaugurated in 1876. From the start it has been a progressive institution. It was, for example, the first Australian university to admit women. It is a centrally located university in a moderate-sized capital city which is recognised for its high quality lifestyle at a low price. Adelaide has a ‘liveability factor’ that has been ranked as one of the highest in the developed world. Adelaide’s low pollution levels, mediterranean climate and white beaches, encourage an outdoor cafe culture enhanced by cultural diversity in food and world class wineries. This multicultural city has a strong emphasis upon theatre and music festivals and is marked by the prevalence of its early twentieth century ‘federation period’ stone housing architecture. Adelaide residents pay less for quality housing, transport and consumables and enjoy a cost of living that is comparatively cheaper than other Australian capital cities. The staff of the Politics Discipline at the University of Adelaide have a research focus which draws together theory and its applications, and have a strong commitment to collegiality in research and teaching. We are looking for new staff who will add to and renew that intellectual community. We are seeking an experienced scholar with teaching and research expertise in International Politics.
