The Discipline of General Practice is seeking an academic with an excellent or emerging track record of research in General Practice or Primary Health Care to develop a strong research portfolio that aligns with the current interests of the Discipline and School. You will be willing to collaborate widely and engage with external stakeholders as well as share in teaching and administrative activities within the Discipline and School, including the supervision of postgraduate students.
Position Requirements
You should have:
- A PhD in an area directly relevant to general practice or primary health care or substantial progress toward completion of same.
- Demonstrated ability and experience in research in a health related field.
- Demonstrated experience in the preparation of research-based publications.
- Experience in general practice or primary health care teaching in university settings
- Administrative and supervisory experience in an area related to primary health care or general practice.
- Proven ability to work with initiative and minimum supervision
- Ability to collaborate and work as part of a team.
For appointment as a Senior Lecturer (Level C), in addition to the above, you should have a completed PhD, success in obtaining competitive grant funding, the ability to pursue independent research in a health related field, and the demonstrated ability to supervise post-graduate students and lead a team in an academic, general practice or industry environment.
Salary
(Level B) $73,228 – $86,960 per annum
(Level C) $89,700 - $103,436 per annum
Superannuation & Loading
Plus a clinical loading of $24,083 and an employer superannuation contribution of 17% applies.
Term of Position
This fixed-term, full-time position is available immediately for a period of 3 years. A part time appointment (at 22.05 hours per week (0.6FTE) or greater) can be negotiated.
