In September 2011 the University of Adelaide launched Hub Central. It is the most dynamic Student Learning Hub in Australia, which students and staff of the University worked together to co-create.  Hub Central is the front door to the University and an initial point of contact and first port of call for students. At Hub Central Information Services Staff facilitate and provide students with the best on campus experience in Australia. Hub Central provides learning spaces to facilitate social learning, a library which is integrated in the learning process, services for students which are delivered face to face and on line as well as access to a large range of information technology which encourages formal, informal and flexible learning practices.

The role of Information Officer provides face-to-face services to students, staff and visitors as the first point of contact in an open contemporary working environment. The Information Officer will provide general information, advice, technology support and assistance to students in the use of hub facilities. Through a ‘one stop, one step’ approach to service, they will also act as a referral service for specialised advise.

We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic individual who has a passion for delivering services to make Hub Central the best on campus experience for students.  You will circulate amongst students, utilising the Hub facilities to sit alongside students to provide assistance and general information.

Position Requirements

The Hub requires an individual who has:

  • Demonstrated experience and commitment in delivering customer centred service
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new systems and adopt to new technology.
  • A working knowledge of relevant University systems such as PeopleSoft Student Administration would be an advantage
  • Proven information technology skills and familiarity with standard office applications.

Salary

Salary: (HEO4) $49,298 – $54,224 per annum.
