The University of Adelaide invites applications for the tenurable post of Lecturer (Level B) in Philosophy. The area of specialization is open, however, it is expected that the successful applicant will contribute to teaching introductory and advanced courses.
The Philosophy Discipline at the University of Adelaide is a member of the School of Humanities, within the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. It enjoys disciplinary autonomy within the School, which is headed by Professor Jean Fornasiero.
When this appointment is made, there will be eight full-time members of the Philosophy staff. Philosophy enjoys buoyant student numbers, a strong research culture and excellent collegial relations between its members. It is active in various cross-disciplinary and cross-university initiatives. It has an established research and teaching strength in cognitive science, the philosophy of mind, ethics and aesthetics. We expect the appointee to contribute strongly to both the teaching and research activities of the Discipline.

Position Requirements
You should have:
- a Ph.D. in Philosophy
- a demonstrated high level of success in teaching in subjects that will contribute to the teaching profile of the discipline
- a publication record of high quality
- the ability to supervise Honours and Postgraduate research projects.
Salary
Salary: (Level B) $80,019 per annum.
Superannuation
Plus an employer superannuation contribution of 17% applies.
Term of Position
This continuing position is available from 1 July 2012.
