The University of Adelaide is a leading research intensive and teaching University comprising five faculties including the Faculty of Health Sciences, which is home to the Faculty Office, 7 Schools and 2 centres.
The faculty’s teaching, learning, research and business administration across 7 Schools and 2 Institutes is supported by the Faculty Office Administrative team, under the direction of the Executive Dean. This position is part of the finance team which is included in the faculty office administration.
This position will be responsible for managing the budgets for the whole faculty, meeting all financial reporting requirements, liaising with School Managers and Central Finance and coordinating various projects as requested. This position is responsible for providing comprehensive financial and management advice to internal and external parties.
Position Requirements
You should have:
- CPA/CA qualifications
- Demonstrated extensive experience in an accounting role in a large organisation in preparing budgets
- Demonstrated extensive experience in an accounting role in a similar organisation
- Demonstrated experience in the collection, manipulation, analysis and reporting of financial data
- Experience in designing and refining financial reports to meet stakeholder requirements
- High level ability to communicate and explain complex financial information in a simplistic manner
- Demonstrated capacity to work independently and to meet tight deadlines
- Demonstrated experience in establishing/managing budgets with numerous departments
- Demonstrated experience in variance reporting for budget of over $150 million
- Preferable experience in a University or Education environment.
Salary
Salary: (HEO8) $77,158 - $86,804 per annum.
Superannuation
Plus an employer superannuation contribution of 17% applies

This continuing position is available from 4 June 2012.
