The Australian Research Council (ARC) Centre of Excellence for the History of Emotions, in collaboration with the University of Adelaide, seeks to appoint an Adelaide-based Research Fellow to contribute to research projects in the history of emotions in Europe (1100-1800).
The successful candidate’s research will focus on the Centre’s ‘Change’ Program, investigating the drivers of collective emotions and change in medieval and early modern Europe, excluding the eighteenth century (i.e. 1100-1700).
In addition to publishing his or her own research in this area, the Fellow will collaborate in jointly-authored publications and be involved fully in the life of the Centre. He or she will also assist with leadership and administration of the Centre’s Adelaide node. In addition, there may be opportunities to undertake limited honours and postgraduate teaching.
Candidates should have experience of multi-disciplinary research, and also have demonstrable knowledge of the different theoretical approaches and research methods relevant to the history of emotions.
Working under the leadership of Professor David Lemmings, you will have a PhD in History or a related discipline and relevant publications. If you are an innovative enthusiastic scholar with a track record in medieval or early modern studies and a capacity to engage in interdisciplinary research you are strongly encouraged to apply.
