We are seeking a suitably experienced and enthusiastic individual with a proven academic track record to contribute to teaching and research in Chinese Studies at the School of Social Sciences.

Position Requirements

You should have:

  • A higher degree (PhD or equivalent) in any field of Chinese Studies.
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to teach Chinese language at tertiary level from beginners to advanced levels. An ability to teach Chinese social science courses.
  • A commitment to excellence in teaching, especially Chinese language.
  • Competence to accept primary responsibility for coordinating courses.
  • A commitment to scholarly endeavour and an active involvement in research as demonstrated by publications.
  • The ability to work harmoniously and constructively with colleagues, both within the Chinese discipline and more broadly within the School and University.
  • Native or near-native competence in both Chinese and English.

For appointment as a Senior Lecturer (Level C), in addition to the above, you should have demonstrated experience in coordinating courses and programs and a proven track record for quality research.

Salary

(Level B) $73,228 - $86,960 per annum 
(Level C) $89,700 - $103,436 per annum

Superannuation

Plus an employer superannuation contribution of 17% applies.
