School of Veterinary Science

Job Reference Number: 9021

The University of Adelaide has established South Australia’s first Vet School at the Roseworthy Campus. The first intake of students in the University's three-year pre-veterinary Animal Science undergraduate degree were enrolled this year, and from 2011 there will be 50 places every year for the postgraduate veterinary science degree.

The Vet School’s new facilities will house the preclinical anatomy, physiology and surgical skills laboratories planned for 2010. The Veterinary Teaching Hospital is due to be ready for students in 2011 as they enter their clinical years. The focus of the new Vet School is on emerging areas of national importance, such as aquaculture, biosecurity, production animals and equine health, and will specifically support South Australia's veterinary industry requirements.

We are seeking a Veterinarian, who is eligible to practice in South Australia, to direct Ruminant Studies curriculum development. You will be expected to have a higher degree at doctoral level in veterinary ruminant health, significant tertiary teaching experience and demonstrated skills in curriculum development. You will have an excellent publication record in international peer reviewed journals and would be responsible for establishment of a research group within the field.
