Do you want to be part of South Australia’s first School of Veterinary Science?

School of Animal and Veterinary Science

The University of Adelaide has established South Australia’s first Vet School at its historic Roseworthy Campus. The Vet School’s new facilities house the teaching laboratories for preclinical and clinical skills training. The Veterinary Teaching Hospital will also open in 2010 ready for students as they enter their clinical years. The rural setting allows excellent access to large animal species as well as a full service teaching hospital and ambulatory clinic.

The first intake of students in the University's three-year BSc pre-veterinary degree were enrolled in 2008, and from 2011 there will be continuing places every year for the three year postgraduate veterinary science degree.

We will be recruiting for 30 new positions in various clinical and paraclinical areas over the next twelve months. These positions are based at the Roseworthy Campus, which is located on a 1600 ha property that includes a working farm. The campus lies 50 minutes drive to the north of cosmopolitan Adelaide city and is approximately 20 minutes drive from the beautiful and world renowned Barossa Valley, one of Australia’s premier wine growing areas as well as being only 30 minutes drive to the coast.

This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in the development of our Animal and Veterinary Sciences School and offers the chance to grow your research program while shaping the future of teaching at the school. Whatever your area of specific expertise, we want to hear from you and find out how you can contribute to the growth of Veterinary Science in South Australia.
