Postgraduate Award
The JSAA Executive would like to continue the practice, introduced at the 2003 conference, of making an award for the best postgraduate paper submitted after delivery at the conference. All postgraduates are encouraged to submit material for the prize. Criteria are:
Prospective applicants for the prize might note that the judges' decision will be based solely on the quality of the written paper. The conference presentation itself will not be judged. Applicants are also reminded that the judges will be looking for publication standard material. The award will be made on the basis of a written paper, not the conference delivery. The Association also hopes to sponsor a number of events such as a session for postgraduates and advice for prospective ARC applicants. Postgraduate Scholarships****CLOSED**** As part of their ongoing support of postgraduate research in Japanese Studies, the JSAA Executive has decided to offer ten postgraduate scholarships to the extent of A$400 per student. These scholarships will be distributed across the states as far as possible and will be payable upon arrival at the conference. Conditions:
Please direct any queries regarding postgraduate scholarships to the JSAA 2005 secretariat.
