Enterprise Bargaining: Round 7

Process | Timelines/Milestones | Teams (EAST, EANT, Drafting)

Enterprise Bargaining Process

Enterprise bargaining ensures that the University is offering competitive wages and conditions compared to the Higher Education Sector, that meets the operational needs of the University and reflect the value of our staff contribution.

The following is a high level outline of the enterprise bargaining process:

  1. Union initiates bargaining through a claim for new and enhanced terms and conditions of employment. (Note: once bargaining has been initiated the current enterprise agreement remains in force until a new agreement is approved by Fair Work Australia).
  2. Staff will be notified of their right to be represented in enterprise bargaining in accordance with the Fair Work Act, 2009.
  3. The University participates in good faith bargaining with the unions to negotiate fair and reasonable working conditions in line with the University's negotiation agenda. The University's negation agenda is based on ideas, concerns and opportunities raised through consultation with management and staff.
