Role of the Executive Director
The Executive Director is responsible for overall strategic management of the Division of the DVC&VP(A) and for providing leadership and direction to functional areas such as Student Services and Administration, Planning and Performance Reporting, Future Students, and Professional and Continuing Education.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing strategic advice on Commonwealth and State government initiatives and policies and their potential impact;
- Provide leadership in the development of the University's student related strategies;
- Ensuring that Divisional services are aligned with the University Strategic Plan, are of a high quality and meet the needs of students and Faculties; and
- Providing strategic oversight of the Division's resources;
The Office for Future Students, Planning and Performance Reporting, Professional and Continuing Education, and Student Services and Administration units report to the Executive Director.

Biography of Mr Gary Martin
Gary Martin has occupied a variety of management roles at the University. For most of the last decade these have focussed on institutional strategy - he has occupied the roles of Director, Planning and Development; Director, Strategy and Policy; Director Strategy and Planning; and Director, Strategy, Planning and Recruitment. Prior to these appointments he spent five years as the Registrar of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.
