Anyone may ask for an URRSA item to be paged from URRSA to any of the University of Adelaide Libraries.
Registered members of the University of Adelaide community should use the Request facility on the Library Catalogue to ask for a book or a whole volume of a journal or a copy of an individual article from the Joint Store.
Members of the University of Adelaide community can also request an individual article from a journal in the Joint Store - use the Document delivery Request form for a copy of the article to be delivered to your computer desktop.
If you are not a student or staff member of the University of Adelaide you can ask for a book or a whole volume of a journal to be paged from the Joint Store. Just ask staff at the Service Enquiries desk.
How to request a book or bound journal volume
University of Adelaide members can use the Request facility on the Library Catalogue to have a book or bound journal volume paged from the Joint Store.
- Search for the item in the Library Catalogue
- Click on the Requests link
- Select "Request (incl. Store & Intercampus)"
- If you are requesting a journal volume, select Details of journal and fill in volume, page numbers and year.
- Change the Pick up at: location box to the Library where you would like to collect the book (Barr Smith, Waite, Law, etc.)
- A notice will be sent to you when the item is ready for collection
How to request an article from a journal [or a chapter from a book]
University of Adelaide members can use the Document Delivery service to request an article from a journal, or a chapter from a book, that is in the Joint Store. Scanned articles are provided free of charge.
- Fill in the details on the request form
- Journal articles will be emailed directly to the address you nominate on the request form within one or two days
When can I collect the requested item?
Requests lodged before 12.00 noon on Monday to Friday, for the Barr Smith Library or the Waite Library, will usually be available for pick up from those libraries after 3.30pm the same day.
Requests lodged after 12.00 noon will be available for collection after 3.30pm on the following weekday.
Requests lodged before 12.00 noon, for the Law, Elder Music or Roseworthy Library will be available for collection after 3.30pm on the following weekday.
You'll receive an email message telling you that the item is available, or you can check MyLibrary to see if your Request has been filled.
Items paged for you are held for seven days before being returned to the Joint Store.
