Exam papers policy
University Archives, as part of the University Libraries, is now responsible for collection and storage of past exam papers to satisfy The University's Records Disposal Schedule no: 2001/01, effective 9 May 2001 - 30 June 2011. The full schedule is available from the University Policies website. Exam papers are submitted directly to University Archives for this purpose and TRIM is the preferred mechanism.
Student online access to past exam papers is not a regulatory responsibility, but rather a pedagogical choice. Teaching staff have an obligation to provide students with access to exemplars or examples of previous assessment tasks, but this does not have to be in the form of past exam papers.
Policy on Library provision of access
Where teaching staff would like the library to provide access to past exam papers via the library catalogue, an electronic version of the exam paper must be submitted to the Digital Resources Management Centre (DRMC) for processing. Paper copies will not be accepted. The exam papers will be accessible only to University of Adelaide students and staff, who will be subject to authentication.
Procedure
The Library's Digital Resources Management Centre will accept electronic submission of exam papers via email and will put past exam papers on the Library's server.
Research and Branch librarians will keep their Departments informed of the University and Library policy regarding exam papers.
Faculties/Schools should not submit exam papers to DRMC if the exam paper is NOT to be made available to students. The Library will put up all papers provided to the DRMC.
A guide, How to find exam papers, is available to help our users to find exam papers.
