This tutorial takes you through the processes of information research.
It assumes that you are familiar with the basics of searching and using the Library.

If you are a new student or need a refresher course then look at the Information Skills page first and work through the Interactive Tutorials and Catalogue Demos.

Lecturers and library staff will assume when you do essays and projects that you can search for information in the ways described here.

Section 1. Define your topic and identify keywords

Section 2. Develop a search strategy

Section 3: Search for books

Section 4: Search for journal articles

Section 5: Evaluate your results

Section 6: Manage and organise your references

If you need more help in using databases or the Library catalogue, ask first at the Service Enquiries desks at the Roseworthy or Waite Libraries.
