To find information for all aspects of Architecture, Landscape Architecture and Urban Design try (1) Handbooks, subject encyclopaedias and dictionaries useful sources of reliable information and references to specialist books and articles. (2) Library Catalogue to find information in print or electronic format available through the Barr Smith Library. Click here for a reminder on efficient search techniques. If a print item is in Joint Store or at a campus library,

from the top of the Cataloue Record, to get the item bought to the Barr
Smith Library.

(3) Databases for architecture When you want to find comment in articles from journals or newspapers use a database. These are very large files covering many journals over many years. Use the Useful Shortcuts as a reminder of what databases are available. Remember to copy the search strategy that you developed for searching by Keyword (use and. or, not, " ") on the Library Catalogue. The same search strategy is used in the databases.
