To find information for all aspects of Architecture, Landscape Architecture and Urban Design try

(1) Handbooks, subject encyclopaedias and dictionaries
useful sources of reliable information and references to specialist books and articles.

(2) Library Catalogue to find information
in print or electronic format available through the Barr Smith Library.  Click here for a reminder on efficient search techniques.
If a print item is in Joint Store or at a campus library, use [Requests], from the top of the Cataloue Record, to get the item bought to the Barr Smith Library.

When the Barr Smith Library doesn't have what you need check -
Other Catalogues (includes Flinders and UniSA)
remember that you can borrow books from Flinders and UniSA libraries on your University of Adelaide card.
or
to see what may be available from other libraries in Adelaide.

If the item you want is not available locally, you may want to use the Document Delivery service to get that item from a library interstate.

(3) Databases for architecture
When you want to find comment in articles from journals or newspapers use a database. These are very large files covering many journals over many years.
Use the Useful Shortcuts as a reminder of what databases are available.

Remember to copy the search strategy that you developed for searching by Keyword (use and. or, not, " ") on the Library Catalogue.  The same search strategy is used in the databases.

From your results, if a reference doesn't make sense look at Interpreting citations and references or ask your librarian
