Dewey Decimal Classification for Art History & Theories

The following table indicates the range of Dewey Decimal Classification numbers used for books and journals on art and related topics in the Barr Smith Library. This list is not complete, but shows the main Dewey classes and demonstrates the subdivisions that can be created.
Most books and journals are in the Main Collection, extending over Levels 1 and 2, in one sequence of Call Numbers. Remember that very large books and journals will be in the Oversize Collection, Level 2, North; also some older material has been transfered to the Joint Store.
