Australian Standards Online
At the initial screen, to find a known Standard, type the Standard number in the top box.  Type the four-digit number only. eg. 1684,  you don't need to include the AS prefix
If you don't know the Standard number, search by keywords, using significant words that could appear in the title or abstract for an appropriate Standard.  Use an asterisk * to truncate a seach term to pick up plurals and variant spelling.
If a Standard number search results in a superseded Standard, try a keyword search to trace the current equivalent Standard.
From the  Search Results
click on  View  to get the abstract, history and references
THEN
click on the title of the Standard for the full text of the Standard as a pdf file.

A word of warning - the Library subscription gives us one "seat", that is only one person at a time can view the full text.  Standards Australia Online is available for searching and viewing  a summary (abstract) and the references attached to a standard, but try again later if you are refused access to the full text.

In particular see -

National Tinber Framing Code: AS 1684-1992.
Residential Slabs and Footings Construction:  AS 2870-1996.
Concrete Structure: AS 3600-1994.
