Indexes and databases for Built Environments I
These services enable you to find out what has been
written
on a particular topic, in individual articles from journals, in papers
given at conferences and in books.
The Library pays subscriptions to a number of indexes in paper form
or in electronic form.
Printed indexes are in the Reference Collection. These are
usually
arranged by subject heading or in broad subject categories, with
indexes
to specific topics.
For indexes in electronic form (usually called 'databases') access
is provided from the Library Catalogue. For those services where
use is restricted to staff and students of the University, use
the
barcode of your University ID card and your last name (in
capiatals)
for authentication.
To find journal articles on a topic use one or more of the indexes
following.
Specialised indexes and databases are listed first, followed by
interdisciplinary
indexes and databases which include a coverage of issues in the built
environment.
Remember
- these indexes are international in coverage; the Barr Smith Library
does
not have all of the articles listed in the indexes.
The primary indexes for all aspects of architecture, landscape
architecture
