AVE:
Avery index to architectural periodicals. 1880-

of the name or subject heading used by the Avery Index,
Author Word - Type distinctive words from a person's
or an organisation's name in any order. eg.
james corner
future systems
Subject Word - Type a few distinctive words from a subject heading,
eg.
albert speer
metropolitan architecture office
Advanced Search allows two groups of search terms, from different
fields, to be combined with Boolean operators AND, OR, AND NOT.
Select the field for the search in each column, and select the desired
Boolean operator. This allows you to specify a building or theme
as well as an architect's name, eg.
Author Word peter eisenman
AND
Title Word house*
[the asterisk * is the truncation symbol which tells the system to find
house or houses]
To combine more than two search terms do a number of Advanced
searches then use HISTORY to display a list of your searches.
Click on the box next to the relevant set numbers, then click on SEND.
The AND operator is implied when sets are combined.

display and output options for AVE.
