These tutorials will be more useful if you:

  • Work through each tutorial  before beginning the next one:
    1. Getting started - Library website and finding text books.
    2. Search technique - important generic research skills.
    3. Databases - indexes to academic information - instructions for key databases.
    Start early before you have assignments to do.
  • Test your grasp of various aspects by using quizzes, worksheets and exercises.

Your lecturer may require that you complete a Library Skills Quiz based on the information in this tutorial.
