Importing records from Informit databases

First save your results in the Informit database.

  • Search Informit databases one at a time
  • At your search results in the database, click Save
  • Select:
the record range e.g. 1-200 or Marked Records
    Label Format: Short Labels
    Fields to Save: Complete Record
    Save Search History
    Output Format: Plain Text
  • Click Save Records and save as a .txt file.
Then in EndNote import the saved results using the filter for the particular Informit database e.g. APAIS. If you do not already have the filter, it can be downloaded from EndNote: importing records to your EndNote filters directory.

The provider Informit supplies a number of databases (e.g. APAIS) which vary considerably so it is best to use each database's individual filter. As a last resort if we do not yet have a filter for a database, try the generic Informit filter at Importing records. Save your results with Output Format: EndNote. This generic filter is less satisfactory: check all imported records carefully for missing data, data in wrong fields and wrong reference types.
