Use Boolean operators
You can combine search terms in EndNote using the Boolean Operators AND, OR, and NOT.
AND - will retrieve only records that contain both terms. For example the search extinction AND dinosaur will retrieve records that contain both those terms. The following diagram illustrates the results of an AND search:
OR - will retrieve records that contain either or both of the terms. For example the search extinction OR dinosaur will retrieve records that contain the term dinosaur, the term extinction or both those terms. The following diagram illustrates the results of an OR search:
NOT - will retrieve records that contain the first term but not the second. For example extinction NOT dinosaur will retrieve records that contain the term extinction only if they dont contain the term dinosaur. The following diagram illustrates the results of a NOT search:
