Searching for Chinese resources in the library catalogue (馆藏中文资料查询)

Records in the library catalogue, for all Chinese books and serials in Chinese (with Chinese script display), can be searched in Chinese characters and Pinyin (拼音).

Not all records in Chinese language contain Chinese script so searches using Chinese script only will miss many other records. It is therefore highly recommended that students search using Pinyin (拼音).

When searching in Pinyin (拼音), syllables are not aggregated, except for Chinese author names and place names - see examples below:

Separation of syllables: separate the Romanization of each Chinese character with a space

Personal names: join given names together

孙中山	Sun Zhongshan

Forenames, given names, courtesy names: must Romanize the name in running form

孔子	Kongzi
老子	Laozi
