Department of History at the University of Adelaide and the
Art Gallery of South Australia.

Art abstracts has been replaced by Art and Architecture Complete, which links to more full text:
Comprehensive bibliographic database that provides cover-to-cover indexing and abstracts for more than 730 academic journals, magazines and trade publications with full text for over 330 periodicals and 215 books, as well as selective coverage for over 70 publications, and an Image Collection of over 64,000 images provided by Picture Desk and others.

20 million peer-reviewed, articles, a large proportion of which are full-text from more than 8000 journals.

Academic Search Premier
Full text for over 4000 of the 8000 journals aross all subject areas.

JStor is an online full text collection of hundreds of journals, including some major art titles, from their  first issue until 3-5 years ago.

Project Muse - scholarly journals from US university presses from the mid 1990's to the present, including PAJ: A Journal of Performance and Art  1996-

Interdisciplinary indexes and databases - Australia

Australian public affairs - full text: APA-FT.
Includes full text for some journals 1995-,  notably  Art and Australia.

Australia/New Zealand Reference Centre
This database covers current events, and popular culture with access to the full-text of Australasian and international magazines, news, reference books, and scholarly journals.

Mura, the on-line catalogue at the Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies, which indexes books, journal articles and other types of materials.

Newspapers

Factiva   is an index to Australian and international newspapers, magazines etc and includes full text for many titles. Great for current and recent exhibitions, controversies, reviews, etc.

RESOURCES ELSEWHERE

The Barr Smith Library holds  limited resources for some of these topics.
For in-depth research it may be necessary to consult other libraries, specifically
University of South Australia (City West),
You can borrow books from Flinders and UniSA using your University of Adelaide student card.

The Library of the Art Gallery of  South Australia should only be consulted as a last resort.

If you want to seach across a number of libraries for a particular title or topic,
use Libraries Australia.
Journals not held in th BSL can be located elsewhere in Australia using
Serials in Australian Libraries (SIAL)

Books and journal articles from interstate may be borrowed via document delivery.
