How to find
journal articles and other references
Individual journal articles are not usually listed in
the library catalogue.
Indexing and abstracting databases list articles under various
topics and can be searched using subject and
keyword. These databases can be searched via the www in
the Library, student computer facilities in the library or
faculty, or from home.
These electronic resources require authentication.
Journal articles may also be found by using printed
bibliographies.

PARLIAMENTARY PAPERS
Parliamentary debates (Hansard) record what was actually said in
Parliament, and as such are a rich source for historical research.
Parliamentary papers publish reports that are tabled in
Parliament. .
There are indexes for each parliamentary session either at the
beginning or the end of the volumes and there are also
separately
published indexes which are shelved in the Reference
Collection.
British Parliamentary
publications in the Barr Smith Library will assist you in
finding these items.
Debates (Hansard) were not published before 1803, but ther were
unofficial
accounts, diaries etc
