CATALOGUE TIPSIt is very important to search the catalogue thoroughly for your topic. Some of the Russian material in the catalogue still has Soviet Union in the subject headings but we are slowly moving toward these standard terms: Russia for pre-1917 Soviet Union for 1917-1991 Russia (Federation) for 1991- The best advice is to try a variety of options just to be sure. Use the catalogue's Guided Keyword Search option to search for "any of these" Russia? Soviet and the other terms you are interested in eg women, peasant? etc For primary sources add terms such as
"sources", diaries", "personal narratives"etc. FINDING JOURNAL ARTICLESHistoryHistorical abstracts 1971- on line1955- at Reference collection 905 H5A Reference collection 947.0016 R969 Russian studies 1941-1958: a cumulation of the annual bibliographies from The Russian Review. 1972 InterdisciplinaryAcademic OneFile Academic Search Premier JSTOR is a full text searchable library of journals (mainly in the social sciences and humanities) which contains full content of selected journals from their first issue up to 3-5 years ago.
