The Library
catalogue lists published material in all formats held in the
Library. (not necessarily primary sources)
Primary sources can be located in either of these two databases
The South
Australiana database lists photographs, including over 62,000
viewable digitised images, other pictorial items, ephemera and
references to selected articles. The Archival
database lists unpublished material held in personal, society and
business categories, including mission records, as well as oral
histories from interviews with Aboriginal people.
Note that the State Library is not a lending library, but
some of the
books listed in these bibliographies are also held in the Barr Smith
Library, so it's worth checking back to our catalogue. The BSL holds
two guides that list resources in the State Library. Check the listed

Parliamentary Publications
Parliamentary debates (Hansard) record what was actually said
in
Parliament,
and as such are a rich source for historical research.
Parliamentary papers publish reports that are tabled in
Parliament
(proceedings).
These can be individual reports on an issue or the annual reports of
state or commonwealth officials or departments There are indexes for
each
parliamentary session either at the beginning or the end of the volumes
and there are also separately published indexes listed in the booklet
which
are shelved in the Reference Collection.
Please
note. Legislation
(Acts and Bills) can be found in the Law
Library, but check Austlii , which contains the full text of SA
Consolidated Acts. These are Acts which have been reprinted,
with all their amendments. Several consolidated South

British Parliamentary Papers
During the colonial period much of the administrative and legal
reporting
and debating was carried on in the British Parliament, which makes
these
papers a very rich source of information and opinion.

Parliamentary Papers are:
