Newsgroups, mailing lists and blogs are useful features of the Web where you can ask questions of colleagues and join in discussions on various topics.
Mailing lists
- The LINGUIST list
- The LINGUIST list is probably the most useful of the linguistics communication channels.
They also maintain a searchable archive of other linguistics-related mailing lists.
Blogs
- Language log
- Weblog run by University of Pennsylvania phonetician Mark Liberman, with multiple guest linguists.
- the language guy
- 'Commentary on how language is used and abused in advertising, politics, the law, and other areas of public life. You can think of this blog as a linguistic self-defense course in which we prepare ourselves to do battle with the forces of linguistic evil.'
To find more, have a look at Language and Linguistics blogs in the Yahoo! Directory.
