ADIN - Australian Drug Information Network
The Australian Drug Information Network (ADIN) is a central point of access to alcohol and drug information on the Internet. Every website has been critically reviewed by alcohol and drug professionals for credible and usable content.

AIC: Illicit Drugs and Alcohol

Patterns of drug use in Australia, 1985-95
By Toni Makkai and Ian McAllister. Canberra: Commonwealth Department of Health and Family Services, 1998. The report focuses on tobacco, alcohol and marijuana, but it also examines heroin, the psycho stimulants and other drugs such as tranquillisers, inhalants and steroids. The social correlates of drug use behaviours are also considered.

Addiction and Alcoholism Recovery
This site is a noncommercial guide to the medical and psychiatric treatment of alcoholism and drug abuse. It covers the treatment of dual diagnosis, chemical dependence, and drug addiction and the biology of alcoholism and addiction. It is maintained by Dr Omar S. Manejwala, who is a practising psychiatrist.

Alcohol and Alcohol Problems Science Database
The National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA) has created this portal to support researchers and practitioners searching for information related to alcohol research. This page includes links to a number of databases, journals, and Web sites focused on alcohol research and related topics. Also included is a link to the archived ETOH database, the premier Alcohol and Alcohol Problems Science Database, produced by NIAAA from 1972 through December 2003.

Alcohol Studies Database
From Rutgers University this database contains over 60,000 citations for journal articles, books, book chapters, dissertations, conference papers, and audio-visual materials. The site was developed by the Scholarly Communication Center and the Center of Alcohol Studies.

CSAT- Technical Assistance Publications (TAPs)
From the CSAT (Center for Substance Abuse Treatment) Office of Evaluation, Scientific Analysis, and Synthesis in the United States, the Technical Assistance Publications (TAPs) are publications, manuals, and guides developed by CSAT to offer practical responses to emerging issues and concerns in the substance abuse treatment field. Each TAP is developed by an expert who has had firsthand experience with the topic.

Drug Policy Alliance: Reducing Harm: Treatment and Beyond
The guiding principle of the Alliance is harm reduction, an alternative approach to drug policy and treatment that focuses on minimizing the adverse effects of both drug use and drug prohibition. The Alliance was formerly known as The Lindesmith Center - Drug Policy Foundation. There is also an online library of journal articles, reports, books, testimonies and fact sheets that focus on drugs and drug policy from economic, criminal justice, and public health perspectives.

National Substance Abuse Web Index!
The National Substance Abuse Web Index contains information on substance abuse prevention and treatment, and aims to select relevant, authoritative information available on the World Wide Web. It is indexed from multiple government and private web sites maintained by different organizations and includes only those sites which are considered the most useful for prevention and treatment. There is a list of sites given, and each site is indexed in its entirety.
